If you’ve lived in the Valley for any length of time, you’ve probably discovered that Arizona has some incredible restaurants. From the best pizza in the world to savory Swedish and Ethiopian dishes to perfectly balanced cocktails, there are so many dishes to taste that we have two restaurant weeks every year. But this weekend is your chance to gather some family and friends and try a few bites from dozens of different places, all the while enjoying the beautiful spring weather.
It’s time for the Scottsdale Culinary Festival, home to the Great Arizona Picnic, Eat Drink and Be Pretty, Chef Dinner Series, the Southwest Festival of Beers, and Wine Country Brunch. If we haven’t convinced you yet, you can also catch cooking demonstrations by some of Arizona’s top chefs, like James Beard award-winner Christopher Gross, or check out a wine seminar to learn more about Arizona vintages. An added bonus: all attendees are supporting art programs and art education in Arizona—cheers to that!
And if you’ve already got plans for this weekend or just want another opportunity to eat and imbibe for a great cause, check out the Original Taste next Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Scottsdale Waterfront, which benefits Phoenix Children’s Hospital, the Boys and Girls Club, Sojourner Center, Jewish Family & Children’s Services, and many more. This event features food from forty local restaurants and seventy wines and spirits from around the world. We’ll be there proudly supporting the event and would love to see you there.
As always, we hope you have an enjoyable, fun-filled time, but please be safe. Remember that larger quantities of food can cause your body to metabolize alcohol more slowly, and if you opt for a cocktail over a beer, you might be having more than one “drink.” Make sure that you, your friends, and families have a sober driver to get you home—or to the next restaurant—safely!
