What’s your idea of a perfect holiday?  Is it gathering together with friends and family?  Cooking the perfect meal perfectly?  Kicking back next to a fire with a glass of eggnog?  How about listening to Wham’s “Last Christmas” 24 times on repeat?  Oh, right, that last one is everyone’s perfect holiday!

If you’re imbibing in a cheery cocktail or some mulled wine during the holiday season, please remember to be safe and have a sober driver—and not just for you but also for those celebrating with you.  Like we discussed in our Thanksgiving blog, holiday feasting generally means throwing your digestive system into overdrive, so your body may not be absorbing and eliminating alcohol as it normally does.

2015 is the 30th year that the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety has coordinated the East Valley DUI Task Force, utilizing DPS, Chandler, Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale, and the Salt River Indian Community Police Departments.  You can be sure to see a strong law enforcement presence on the roads here in the Valley.  The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has also teamed up with Uber for its “Save Lives, Don’t DUI” campaign, and first-time users can download the free app and get a $20 credit using the promo code FREETRIP.

As you celebrate your traditions, we hope you’ll have the opportunity to share joy with others.  It can be as simple as a smile to a stranger or helping to support a great cause like Toys for Tots.  No matter what we went through this year, let’s be thankful for the opportunities that we have been given, and let’s vow to make our world a better place in 2016!
