Our office is very proud to be taking part in the Executive Council Charities’ annual “The Original Taste” event taking place on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the Scottsdale Waterfront. Good food, good wine, and a great cause sound like our idea of a wonderful evening! For those unfamiliar with the work of the Executive Council Charities, here is a synopsis of who they are and what they do:
The Executive Council Charities (ECC) is a 501c3 Arizona nonprofit corporation whose goal is to provide grants to programs and charity organizations focused on helping the youth of Arizona overcome adversity and reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Funds are raised through signature events, such as The Original Taste, and direct contributions from annual campaigns. The Boys and Girls Club of Scottsdale, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona, Educare Arizona, Foundation for Blind Children, Ronald McDonald House, and the Sojourner Center are just a few of the awesome local charities supported by this group!
Now back to the part about good food and good wine! The Original Taste event combines more than 40 of the Valley’s best restaurants, over 50 wines from across the world, and select brands of beer and premium liquor. After you have had the opportunity to indulge in the evening’s festivities, we hope you’ll come by and say hi to us!
Our office will be well equipped with our own table dedicated to educating Taste attendees about alcohol consumption, and we’ll be answering some frequently asked questions about blood alcohol limits, impairment, and driving under the influence. We will have interactive demonstrations, activities, and literature to educate as many folks as possible–we will even have our own breathalyzer machine–for demonstrative purposes only, of course.
We’re getting the final preparations done here at the office and are looking forward to a successful event to benefit our Valley’s children. We hope to see you all tomorrow, and please enjoy the evening responsibly!
